The SMT Series automatic de-fluxers provide cleanliness levels exceeding all military, IPC, and other high-reliability specifications. Cleaning Technology:
All SMT-Series de-fluxing systems are equipped with Focus-Wash (patent pending) technology. Focus-Wash directs powerful yet safe high-pressure wash solution and rinse water to all areas of the boards. All SMT Series de-fluxing systems are equipped with high-performance stainless steel multi-stage spray pumps for maximum board cleanliness. Multiple asymmetrical stainless steel spray nozzles direct high pressure, high velocity cleaning fluid to all areas of the board's surface, including under components. Boards are loaded onto an oscillating rack which constantly moves the boards between twenty rotating spray nozzles. The constant movement of the board rack ensures thorough coverage of the spray nozzles, providing superior cleaning, even on the most densely populated assembly.

The SMT-LD Series de-fluxing systems, capable of removing all flux residues, are equipped with dual, segregated spray pumps. One multi-stage pump is dedicated for washing boards while the other multi-stage pump provides rinsing functions. Wash solution is not mixed with rinse water providing maximum rinse efficiency. Rinse water is never mixed with wash solution, ensuring consistent wash chemical concentrations |
The SMT-LD Series de-fluxers are equipped with a built-in wash solution recycling and filtration system, allowing the filtration and re-use of wash solution. Because the wash solution is captured, filtered, and reused operational costs, including chemical costs are extremely low. An optional (standard on SMT1050-LD) chemical management system offers precise one-button chemical dosing. Simply set the desired chemical concentration and push a button. The precise volume of chemical and water automatically fills the wash solution's holding tank. No measuring or mixing required. |
Cleanliness Capabilities:
All SMT-Series de-fluxing systems are equipped with on-board cleanliness testing capabilities. Simply program the desired cleanliness settings and the SMT-Series' computer will monitor the board's cleanliness, maintaining the cleaning cycle until cleanliness is achieved. Cleanliness results are stored on the system's built-in SPC monitoring system.
Drying Technology:
All SMT-Series de-fluxing systems are equipped with the most powerful drying system of any batch-format de-fluxing system.? A combination of convection and radiant heat technology provide thorough board drying in impressively short cycle time.
Fully Automatic Operation:
All machine functions (wash, rinse, cleanliness testing, drying, SPC data logging) and achieved in one machine. Boards are loaded into an ESD safe board rack and rolled into the SMT-Series de-fluxing system. An operator chooses the desired programmed recipe and presses a single button. There is no need for operator interaction while the machine is cleaning the boards. Estimated time of completion is displayed on the display screen eliminating the need to consistently check on the machine's status. |
